Some of our members set off to travel to Standing Rock this week for the Mní Wičoni Healing Gathering is happening next week on the 18th to the 23rd in Standing Rock North Dakota. It is a described as a “gathering for Water Protectors, Allies and Supporters that will be a time for healing, ceremony, reflection, strategizing, planning and celebration.” But if you know anything about magic of Standing Rock then you know this will be so much more.
Mni Wiconi, in the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota language roughly translates to Water is Life. This quickly became the call to action for the first nations and their allies as they banded together to stop a oil pipeline that was originally set to flow above Bismarck, North Dakota. This was voted against and the pipeline was moved to a more “convenient” location : Right above the Standing Rock Reservation.
The gathering of nations last year in Standing Rock, North Dakota was nothing short of fantastic. Diplomatic representatives from all over the world came together to stand for Mother Earth and against corporate terrorism in the most epic of displays of solidarity ever seen in our lifetime.
Now is the time they amass again to continue their spiritual battle for Mother Earth.
We send our hearts, thoughts and prayers for this gathering!
