At the Manny Fried Playhouse, 255 Great Arrow Ave., Suite #302, Buffalo 14207. Board member and Operations Manager of Subversive Theatre Collective in Buffalo, Sarah McMichael, has organized a pre-show discussion panel on March 14th at 5:30 titled “Human Trafficking: It can Happen to Anybody,” in an effort to bring awareness to the topic of human trafficking. As part of the “Black Power Play Series,” The Subversive Theatre Collective will be showing the Tony Award-nominated play, Eclipsed, a fictional story based on the true experiences of women who survived the atrocities of the Liberian Civil War in 2003. This work explores the power of defiance in the face of the worst of human degradations, and is based on the author’s interviews with dozens of real-life survivors of the conflict.
